We see a picture in Zech. 4 of the church as a golden lampstand. This lampstand is continually fueled by the oil of the lamp. In like manner, the church of Christ is fueled by the continual flow of oil by the Holy Ghost. That oil of God will never be fully stamped out in this world until Christ’s second coming, even though the light may become dim in later days. With confidence that the oil will never run out, let us pour out our own oil in the church in honor to our Lord.
