As we consider 1 Peter 1:15-23, we consider that we are only God’s children by his choice and election, not by our choice. We are not redeemed by the blood of bulls and goats, but the only means of our redemption is the precious blood of Jesus Christ. That blood of Christ is not applied by our acceptance of him, but it is applied sovereignly by the Lord unto the souls of all his children.
