In the law, we see the beautiful picture of the ability to redeem both land and a deceased husband’s wife and seed through a near kinsman. This near kinsman redeemer is displayed most prominently in the story of Ruth and Boaz. Boaz is our strong picture of Jesus Christ who came and redeemed his bride from sin and death. Similar to Boaz, Christ would not be in rest until he had finished the work of redemption and he finished our redemption by his death on the cross.
