Every 50th year in the Jewish law was a year of jubilee, all debts were forgiven, all servants were freed, and everyone was restored to their former land. What a happy joyful time the year of jubilee was in the Old Testament! Now, we have been given our jubilee through Jesus Christ in the New Testament kingdom. We have been forgiven of our debts of sin through Christ, we have been set at liberty to serve Christ instead of serve sin, and we have the glorious hope of final restoration to our homeland in heaven.
