In the parable of the Good Samaritan shows man’s inability to save himself from his fallen condition. The man fallen in the ditch shows natural man in his totally depraved state, unable to fix his condition. It took someone else, someone with life and power apart from himself to save him from his fallen condition. Also, the man commits to paying all the debt of the injured man, just as Jesus Christ was our surety to pay all our debt we could not pay.
