In the Old Testament, both blessings and judgment were meted out in a collective manner, with the whole nation being judged by the sins of just a few. However, in the New Testament gospel kingdom our blessings of assurance are individual to each child of God. According to his new covenant, the Lord comes and quickens our dead hearts individually and we can full sweet assurance based upon our obedience unto God.
