Sorrow and Salvation of the Rich Men

The Gospel of Grace Radio Broadcast from 5-14-2017.  Text from: Luke 18:18-27, Luke 19:1-10

This morning we consider the contrasting stories of two rich men in consecutive chapters of Luke’s gospel.  One man, that we know well as the rich, young ruler, shows that he is unwilling to part with his riches to seek the kingdom of God first and foremost and press into the blessings of the gospel kingdom.  In contrast to the sorrowful rich, young ruler, the rich publican Zaccheus shows genuine repentance after his visitation with Jesus Christ and is willing to give up his riches to enter into the kingdom of God.  Zaccheus partook of the salvation in gospel obedience and discipleship, here in the kingdom of God.
