As we have considered the detailed intricacy and magnitude of God’s law, we feel the burden of the law, that we were obligated to keep to total perfection. Any requirement to obey a condition, a work, or the law to be saved, will end in futility and will be a burden on the neck of the disciples that we were never intended to bear. Thankfully, the gospel declares that Jesus Christ perfectly obeyed the law to a jot and to a tittle, and his perfect obedience and righteousness have been imputed unto his elect.
