As we examine the picture of Rebekah being fetched as a bride for Isaac, God’s chosen seed, we see how she displays characteristics of an already Spirit-quickened heart. Rebekah is a pure virgin who displays acts of kindness and love, not as the means of making her righteous but an evidence that she already is righteous. In like manner, the child of God does not do good works or believe to be saved to heaven. Instead, those are evidences that God has already made them righteous in the new birth and in the blood of Jesus Christ.
