The Day of Atonement

We consider the pinnacle of the OT offerings, the day of atonement, pointing toward Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf. On the day of atonement, the high priest would enter into the holy of holies to make a blood offering on the mercy seat as a representative atonement for all of God’s people. The offering on the day of atonement was pointing towards Jesus Christ entering once into the holy place to redeem his people from their sins.
