The very first piece of the armor of God might be surprising to us, it is the belt (or girdle) of truth. A girdle protects our abdomen and our mid section that can be very vulnerable to attack. The very first thing we must put on is a commitment to truth, to be girded up with the truth of God’s word and to defend God’s truth to a scoffing world around us.
