We find the error of King Saul when he ignored the ordained order of God to take upon himself the role of both priest and king. The role of priest and king was only ordained by Jesus Christ, but Saul went beyond his proper role and dishonored God’s commands. We then consider the order that God has put into his New Testament Church for worship and church practice. We need to be sure to honor and not rebel against God’s ordained order in the church, in the family, and in our lives.
