When we examine the life of King Saul, it should be a sobering reminder that if we do not protect ourselves from temptation, we can fall away from fellowship with the Lord. Saul became totally consumed with destroying David, who was the man after God’s own heart, because of jealousy. He also chose to disobey God’s command and not follow him fully. Repeated rebellion against God and his word will cause us to fall away from close fellowship with God.
